Florida immigration attorney Jonathan A. Bartell helped a Lebanese man finally get his green card after 30 years. Bartell, a visa attorney, recently won the court case for the man who has lived in the U.S. since 1982 while waiting for his asylum claim to be heard. “His claim was finally heard and won, and he will get his green card,” said Bartell, a deportation removal lawyer.

He and his firm represent clients nationwide for a variety of immigration cases and appear at U.S. embassies in foreign countries on their behalf. The credit card fraud lawyer can also help clients secure an investment visa.

Bartell, a Thai speaking immigration lawyer and his staff will stand by clients throughout the entire process by representing them during hearings before an asylum officer, remaining with them when a case is brought before an immigration judge, including if the application is rejected, or the client is in deportation proceedings.

Asylum is a form of protection permitting people to stay in the U.S. if the person is a refugee from his or her native country, unable or unwilling to return if there is persecution or fear of persecution because of race, religion, nationality, or membership in a particular social or political group, according to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Although the process shouldn’t take as long as it did for the Lebanese client, people needing asylum should have the legal counsel of Bartell and his staff to help expedite the process, especially when there are unanswered questions.

According to a study by the Georgetown Center for International Migration, people with representation are six times more likely to prevail with their asylum cases.

“If someone already lives in the U.S., they must apply for asylum within one year of entering the country,” said Bartell, an Ohio asylum cases expert. “We help our clients through a very complicated process so they can gain approvals efficiently.”
