Leading website and road safety charity announce latest venture to drive careful driving message

The campaign is introduced in partnership with road safety charity Brake and will promote careful driving and responsible car maintenance.
Road Sense takes one particular driving issue each year and seeks to raise awareness of it and encourage more responsibility among UK drivers. The campaign this year focuses on car brake and tyre safety and wants drivers to get them checked by experts regularly – even though they can be expensive.
Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk, says: “British roads can be very treacherous during the winter, so we’re aiming to get people taking responsibility for the safety of their car tyres and brakes. The goal is to reduce the number of avoidable accidents on the roads of the UK.”
Leading motoring charity Brake reports that more young Brits die in car accidents each year than by any other means, with lots of the accidents being avoidable. Excessive speed and careless overtaking are the main causes of accidents while there are one in eight UK drivers aged under 25 – yet one in four serious accidents includes a person from that age bracket.
