Child Sexual Abuse: Reporting Should be Mandatory

A USA Today editorial looks at the laws surrounding reporting child sexual abuse.

11/18/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Our child sexual abuse laws totally need to be re-worked in the reporting department. Any witness to a sexual crime against a child should be required to report it to school officials, as well as to the authorities. Reporting these instances should not be just left to officials in charge of schools, or officials of other activities that involve children. Like in the recent case at Penn State, reporting was allegedly made but school officials did not report it to police.
