Study: Some FDA Seafood Standards Off by 10,000 Times

A new study indicated that the Food and Drug Administration’s standards could be unsafe for pregnant women.

In the wake of the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill, it’s relieving to know that our seafood is still in good condition. But, the FDA should be updating and/or reviewing their standards yearly at the very least. To find that a standard is 10,000 times off is inexcusable. This can put pregnant women and their unborn child at risk, should they come into contact with contaminated seafood.
