Debate: Should Nurses that Earn Doctoral Degrees be called Doctors?

The debate of whether nurses who earn doctoral degrees have the right to call themselves doctors is growing.

10/01/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Earning a doctoral degree is no easy feat, and I think they have earned that right to be called a “Dr.” But, it is very confusing and almost misleading to patients who may think that they are an M.D. doctor, not a nurse who earned a doctoral degree. I believe that they should introduce themselves without the “doctor” attached, while in the field so they don’t confuse patients, but in other environments they should be referred as a doctor.
