Unintended pregnancies have risen dramatically among poor women, a new study reports.

There are many factors that have contributed to the rise in unintended pregnancies in poorer women, but one factor that stands out the most is the possible inaccessibility to birth control. Many birth control pills are very expensive, even with health insurance. The lack of health insurance, money to see a doctor to get birth control, and the cost of purchasing the birth control is probably causing the jump in pregnancies. Birth control should really be free to anyone who wishes to use it.
