Blood donors at Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center event receive free T-shirt and a voucher for a free box of chocolate-dipped fruit.
/EINPresswire.com/ Virginia Beach, Virginia – Aug. 19, 2011 — The Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center will sponsor a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Tuesday, August 30th, 2011. The event will be held in the Chesapeake Ballroom from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m.
“The Red Cross needs more than half a million blood donations during the month of August for patients nationwide.” said Stacey Patrick, general manager of Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center. “There is a great need for blood in the Hampton Roads area in particular, so we wanted to support their local efforts.”
All blood donors will receive a free Red Cross T-shirt and a coupon from Edible Arrangements for a complimentary box of six pieces of chocolate-dipped fruit.
Blood donors can set up an appointment time in advance by visiting redcrossblood.org online and entering VBResort as the sponsor code. Those who prefer to drop by the Virginia Beach hotel at their convenience during blood drive hours are welcome to do so. Parking is free and donors may enter through the main lobby.
The process should take about an hour and 15 minutes from beginning to end. The actual time it takes to donate one pint of blood is about 10 minutes.
