San Francisco Wage and Hour Lawyers Feels New Bridge to Justice Program Offers Hope

/EINPresswire.com/San Francisco, CA (San Francisco Employment Lawyer News) On December 13, 2010, the federal Department of Labor launched a new “Bridge to Justice” program reports San Francisco Wage and Hour Lawyers. This program functions to serve workers who have legal complaints by linking them to a local attorney referral network. The Bridge to Justice Program has resulted from a new collaboration between the Wage and Hours Division and the American Bar Association to establish an attorney referral system. Vice President Joe Biden, along with Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, announced this new program to San Francisco Employment Lawyers and the public at a Middle Class Task Force event on November 19, 2010.

San Francisco Wage and Hour Lawyers explain that because it is difficult for a worker to pursue help for their denied rights, it makes it even easier for certain employers to exploit their workers. Due to this new program, the Wage and Hour Division will now help workers get in touch with a local referral service. This referral service can then be used to help workers find a San Francisco Employment Lawyer to assist them in their legal matters.

The process for the new program is quite simple reports San Francisco Wage and Hour Lawyers. If a worker has a FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) or a FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) claim and WHD (Wage and Hours Division) will not pursue their complaints, they will be given a toll-free number. This number will help the individual to contact the new ABA-Approved Attorney Referral System. Once the person calls this number, they will be referred to a provider in their area that will help them contact an attorney. San Francisco Employment Lawyers state that if the wage and hour division actually conducted an investigation into a worker’s complaint, it will now provide the complaining worker with information about its determination regarding violations and back wages owed. In addition to the prior, the Wage and Hour Division also created a process for complainants and their San Francisco Wage and Hour Lawyers that will help them to quickly gain relevant case information as soon as it becomes available.
