LOS ANGELES – With a flair for down-home cooking and a passion for the culinary arts, Carla Crudup’s captive personality and knack for creating eclectic cuisine has grabbed the attention of viewers on major food and cooking websites.

Now, Carla, who began seriously cooking at the age of 13, has earned the top spot out of over 28,000 other videos on FoodBuzz, which features stars like Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and many others. With her new show, “Make Yourself Comfortable American Style,” Carla is looking to take her cooking skills and personality to the next level.

“There’s nothing I love more than making people happy through preparing great cuisine that everyone can enjoy,” Carla said. “I’m thrilled and completely humbled to have the top spot on the FoodBuzz community, and want to thank all of the wonderful viewers who have gotten me here.”

In the video, which is produced by the Multicultural Cooking Network, Carla shows viewers how to make a traditional meatloaf with Italian and Spanish influences. The video has been an Internet fan favorite since its debut in August 2010 and has resulted in a great deal of positive feedback from viewers.

As a recipe developer, Carla has created recipes for major food manufacturers, national grocery chains and her award-winning food column. As a bilingual traveler who speaks both English and Spanish, she has mastered eclectic and epicurean cuisine from around the world, including the preparation of European, Latin and Asian fare along with American, Southern and various regional dishes. She also does regular live shows for Macy’s Home Stores.

“I have such a passion for traveling and learning the different styles and cuisines from locations all over the world, so diversity is very important to me,” Carla said. “It goes to show you that no matter where you are in the world, you can always make yourself comfortable.”

Recently, after writing a review for Northridge Los Angeles Lum-Ka-Naad Thai restaurant and making a slight modification to its Gang Acorn Squash dessert, she was honored to have the owner name the dish after her. The dessert is now known as “Gang Carla,” and when diners mention her name, they can receive a free dessert for their table.
