Previously lost letters, valued at $30,000, to be exhibited at the Four Seasons Hotel on December 4.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – December 3, 2010 — The Raab Collection, the nation’s leading dealer in important historical autographs, announced today that it will unveil two historical treasures at an Open House event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia this Saturday, December 4. The historical documents on display are:
RaabCollection Image for Open House • A letter of Orville Wright in which he describes the imaginative process behind the invention of the airplane, among the most famous letters on invention ever written and had been lost to time until it was discovered this year.
• A letter of Ernest Hemingway in which he teaches how to fish for Marlin, unpublished and previously unknown.
“These are among the most interesting historical letters written by these two men,” said Nathan Raab, Vice President of The Raab Collection. “This is the first time either autograph has ever been exhibited.”
Among the other pieces on display are important historical autographs of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Napoleon Bonaparte, Thomas Jefferson and others. The Open House is being held at The Four Seasons Hotel, 1 Logan Square in Philadelphia, on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 2 to 6:30PM. RSVP is required.
