Chris Hoff, lead organizer, founder and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP(R)), created the HacKid organization and conference to restore the positive – and legal – meaning of the word hack.

Hoff said, “While the word ‘hack’ often has negative connotations today, hacking was originally about using your wits, creativity and knowledge to solve problems and have fun.”

“The HacKid conference will hopefully spark kids’ enthusiasm for technology, as well as introduce them to ways that they can stay safe both online and offline.”

The conference is open to kids ages 5-17, and a parent or legal guardian is required to be present. Cost for the two days (with lunch included) is $75 per person, adult or child.
