Artists Unite Against Hunger and to Honor the Memory of One of Their Own
Live Music – Food – Comedians
Salt Lake City, Utah – September 9, 2010 — Spirit West Recording Studios and the Hawks Court Foundation team up with local performing artists and comedians to host this charity event to benefit the Utah food Bank and Primary Children’s Medical Center. The event will take place outdoors in the parking lot of Spirit West Recording Studios located at 2525 South State Street in South Salt Lake. The event will run from 11AM until 7:00PM on Saturday September 18th. The event will feature live music by 6 different local musicians/bands, 2 comedy acts and great food.
The event is free to the public but organizers are asking attendees to bring generous donations of canned food for The Utah Food Bank and monetary donations for both the Utah Food Bank and Primary Children’s Medical Center. Donations to Primary Children’s Medical Center will be donated in memory of Sophie Barton, a very talented young musician and singer-songwriter who passed away unexpectedly during a hike at camp this past summer. Her talented sister, Tessa Barton, will be among the performers.

Food:
Their will be reasonably priced barbequed pork tenderloin and beef brisket sandwiches, potato and pasta salads, baked beans, corn on the cob, assorted soft drinks and pizza courtesy of 5 Buck Pizza for sale.
Tickets:
The event is free to the public but organizers are asking the attendees to please bring generous canned food donations and monetary donations to benefit both charities. Tickets may be purchased for food with all proceeds going to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
According to Brandon Daniels of the Utah Food Bank, due to these difficult economic times The Utah Food Bank has received reports from local food pantries of a 35% increase in individuals seeking emergency food assistance. Every $1 donated provides $5 worth of food and services
Primary Children’s Medical Center’s mission is to attain the highest levels of excellence in the provision of healthcare for children in an atmosphere of love and concern.
Last year Primary Children’s saw over 43,000 patients in the emergency room, cared for 195 patients on average per day, and provided $13,386,109 in charity care.
None of this would be possible without generous donations from the community.
Spirit West Recording Studios and the Hawks Court Foundation encourage artists and fans alike to suit up and show up to Unite Against Hunger and to honor one of our own by attending this entertaining event and giving generously to both The Utah Food Bank and Primary Children’s Hospital.
