Vestas Receives Order for 18 Wind Turbines from Chinese Developer

Longyuan Power Group buys 36MW of capacity

Aug. 2, 2010 — Vestas has secured an order for 18 wind turbines from China Longyuan Power Group. The order for Vestas’ V80-2.0 Megawatt (MW) wind turbine will give Longyuan an additional 36 MW capacity.

According to Vestas, China Longyuan Power Group is China’s largest developer of wind energy whose recent IPO helped it secure $2.2 billion to fund various wind energy projects.

The contract includes delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines and a service and maintenance agreement. The first delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2010.
