July 23, 2010 — Madison, Wis., based RMT Inc. has been chosen by First Wind Holdings for the engineering and construction of First Wind’s Kahuku Wind facility in Oahu, Hawaii.
The project, slated to be finished this year, will provide a wind capacity of 30 megawatts, enough energy to power 7,700 homes per year, according to RMT.
RMT will also design and construct the electrical infrastructure, including a 23-kV underground collector system and a 23/46-kV step-up substation. RMT is also responsible for tower erection and construction of a 7,000-square-foot operations and maintenance building.
