Turbines to supply wind energy output of 49 megawatts
July 19, 2010 — Wind energy giant Vestas announced it has received an order to supply 25 wind turbines to Ningxia Hanas New Energy Company in China, an order that will produce 49 megawatts of energy.
The contract between Vestas and Hanas New Energy calls for Vestas to provide towers, delivery, installation and commissioning of the 25 wind turbines as well as two years service and maintenance.
The wind turbines will be delivered to Huianbao, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region by the third quarter of 2010.
Vestas also made news last week by announcing it would hire more than 1,000 people in Colorado for its wind turbine components plant. The expansion of its Colorado operations, which is set to happen over the next 18 months, will almost double the company’s headcount at the plant.
