Atlantic City, NJ – A Brooklyn-based passenger bus from New York City crashed with two other vehicles on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at approximately 11:30 a.m., leaving 24 injured, with two in critical condition, as reported by the New York Post. The bus was traveling from Chinatown to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.

The bus then careened into the west-bound lanes and hit a sidewalk, skidding along the guardrail.
The bus landed on its side, though the fire department was able to bring it back up.
Rescue crews transported 24 people, three of whom were in critical condition, to area hospitals.
The driver, who was catapulted through the windshield, was in listed in critical condition in the trauma unit at Atlantic City Medical Center, according to authorities.
No fatalities had been reported as of 1:30 p.m., Thursday.
New Jersey state inspectors said they will examine the bus for possible mechanical failure, according to police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones.
