Manhattan, NY – A disgruntled lawyer who enlisted the services of the well-known matchmaker Amy Laurent filed a $100,000 lawsuit against Laurent, claiming she “failed to perform” the services he paid for, as reported by New York Daily News.
John Friedland, a Manhattan attorney, is suing to get his $10,000 back, in addition to damages. The 51-year-old attorney and author claims Laurent stiffed him after he paid into her pledges that he would be matched with women tailored for “powerful executives” and “eligible bachelors.”
The suit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, says Friedland asked for a refund within 90 days of enlisting her services because he felt he was not matched with suitable women. According to Friedland, his request for reimbursement was never fulfilled.
Amy Laurent International boasts on its website, “As a client of Amy Laurent, you can expect from her to never have you settle for anything less than perfection in a mate.”
Laurent told the Daily News she was unaware of the lawsuit and that, “He didn’t tell [her] he was unhappy.”
Amy Laurent International operates in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and London. The company was founded by Laurent and Alysia Ellin, a former model, in 2005. Its services have been featured in several men’s magazines, including Maxim and Men’s Health.
