April 29, 2010 – The Tea Party movement has made plenty of noise when it comes to protecting personal liberties in regards to economic issues from taxation to government-mandated health care, but how will the Partiers respond to a real threat to their liberties, such as the Fourth Amendment challenge put up by Arizona?
The very public Tea Party protesters have been very quiet on the Arizona immigration legislation which some say bypasses the Fourth Amendment, which protects people against unreasonable searches and seizures.
Will the members of the movement also protest this invasion by government into the individual’s civil liberties, or will the Tea Party members choose to be selective in the liberties they’re willing to throw their weight behind?
