/EINPresswire.com/ Lutz, Florida – The Chopin Project(R)(www.chopinproject.com) today announced the initial release of 20 exclusive new recordings, including many Chopin rarities via The Chopin Project(R) App from the Apple(R) iTunes Store. The Chopin Project(R) App offers a growing discography of new studio recordings from the Chopin Project(R) Listening Library.

With performances by internationally acclaimed Chopin Project(R) pianists including Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Arthur Greene and, Russian born, New York-based Svetlana Smolina, Maxim Mogilevsky and others, the Chopin Project(R) App introduces listeners to the magical world of Fryderyk Chopin and the exquisite poetry of his compositions for piano.

The Chopin Project(R) App is the first and only iPhone app in the world dedicated to streaming performances of Fryderyk Chopin’s piano repertory. In addition, the App’s functionality includes search and sort features as well as a capacity to create playlists by genre, key and date of composition.

“Fans of Chopin will be thrilled with the quality of these performances and the recordings,” says Chopin Project(R) Founder, Frederick Slutsky. “And the app ushers the genius of Chopin into the Digital Age.”

About The Chopin Project(R):

Founded by Frederick Slutsky of Tampa, Florida, The Chopin Project(R) originated as a live-concert-and-symposium series at the University of Michigan’s acclaimed School of Music, Theatre & Dance in 2007.

Renowned piano teacher and performer Arthur Greene and select members of his studio, performed a complete and chronological traversal of Chopin’s piano repertory – from his first surviving work, a Polonaise written at age 7, through his last Mazurka penned in 1849.

The Chopin Project(R) is a unique component of the worldwide Chopin Bicentennial celebration. The organization is dedicated to promoting the discovery, research and pure enjoyment of Fryderyk Chopin’s keyboard works. The web site has become a global community of music fans, students and scholars interested in the timeless music and intriguing life of the Polish master.
