Physical Therapy Software Company Introduces New Version of Exercise Software

Physical therapy software

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, (WiredPRNews.com) — CANADA — The physical therapy software manufacturer Prognition Corp. recently released the newest version of its exercise prescription software, Mavenlive 3.0.

Mavenlive 3.0 is physical therapy exercise software that speeds up documentation and exercise prescription by automating a number of processes and providing more uniform assessments.

The new version includes functionality improvements made as a result of a growing community of users and their feedback, said Dr. Jay Winburn, president of Prognition Corp. It provides automatic documentation of assessments and prescriptions as well as generation of letters to referring doctors and other needed reposts. The documents are generated from the patient assessment and prescription that is entered into the system by the physical therapist.

Version 3.0 also includes a more user-friendly assessment system that is almost entirely point and click, Winburn said, adding there is little need for typing. The assessment portion of Mavenlive 3.0 also is editable. If one clinic performs patient evaluations by looking at a certain set of parameters and another clinic uses different parameters, both clinics still can use the software.

The ability to edit is also especially useful as a clinic evolves and modifies the way it approaches problems, he said.

Another improvement to the exercise software is the intelligent selection of exercises based on the assessment.

“The physical therapist doesn’t have to sift through files,” Winburn said. “If the PT is working with a patient who has had very recent knee surgery for example, they won’t see exercises that are only appropriate for later stages of recovery.”

Prognition Corp. is a company that has gained expertise in knowledge-based engines through the years, he said. It has developed different technologies that enable knowledge and information to be appropriately stored and easily recalled.

The company introduced Mavenlive in March 2009 as a tool to streamline patient evaluation, documentation and exercise prescription processes. Updates to the system will continue as Mavenlive 3.0 and other exercise software for physical therapy is used by therapists who offer feedback on ways to improve it, he said.
