North Dallas motor vehicle crash involving truck and SUV leaves one dead



A truck and an SUV were involved in a fatal car crash early Saturday morning, killing the driver of the truck and injuring the driver of the SUV. 

At approximately 4 a.m., Plano Police officers rushed to the scene of the accident located on the 2000 block of West Park Boulevard.

According to eyewitnesses, a Chevrolet pick-up truck headed westbound on West Park Boulevard ran a red light, plowing into a Hyundai SUV traveling the opposite direction. 

The driver of the truck was thrown from the vehicle and became pinned under the driver’s side of the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

The driver of the SUV was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Dallas resident Albil C. Bernal, a 33-year old male.
