Despite Apology for Miscommunication, Google Books Will Continue Scanning Chinese Works
January 12, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ Admitting that there was poor communication between itself and the Chinese writing community, Google apologized to Chinese writers for inadequate discussion between the tech giant and scribes.
However, Google Books isn’t going to stop scanning Chinese books. Instead, Google will hand over a list of titles scanned for Google Books in recent years.
With Chinese authors putting up resistance to Google’s plans, will Google face the same series of lawsuits that it dealt with in the U.S., France and Germany over the Google Books project or will the company find more comfort in a country that is traditionally loose on intellectual property rights?
