Texarkana, AR- Highly respected Dallas, Texas 18-wheeler accident attorney reports a fatal multiple vehicle collision ended the lives of four people and injured two others, after they were struck by a semi-truck while stopped in a construction zone near Texarkana. The violent crash caused a fiery explosion that shut down both directions of I-30 around 2:30 a.m., as reported by the Houston Chronicle.
Arkansas State Highway Patrol and Texarkana Police responded to the scene of the crash and reported a tractor-trailer, which was transporting newspaper advertising inserts, slammed into the rear of a car that was stopped in traffic. The occupants of the big rig, Vaughn Gentry, 43, of Dallas, Texas; and Albert Pruitt, 51, of Addison, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by responding emergency medical services (EMS) professionals. The occupants of the car, Walter Carpenter, 77, and Victory Barker, 64, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, were also pronounced dead at the scene of by EMS crews. The initial collision ignited a fiery explosion, and set off a chain reaction of rear-end crashes that included three additional vehicles. Two other unidentified people were also injured in the collision. It is was not revealed how badly the victims were injured in the accident. Arkansas State Highway Patrol and Texarkana Police are investigating the fatal multiple vehicle pile-up. The westbound lanes of I-30 still remained closed on Tuesday afternoon, November 10, 2009 due to the tragic early morning wreck.\
