Florida motorcycle accident attorneys at the Daytona Beach personal injury law firm of Rue & Ziffra are motorcycle enthusiasts and experienced in bike wreck injury cases. Even though bikers from all over the country come to Florida to enjoy the benefits of riding in the Sunshine State, riding a bike is a dangerous activity and more than 95% of riders suffer injuries in single vehicle and multiple vehicle accidents. According to a motorcycle accident report, the Hurt Study, 92 percent of bikers involved in motorcycle accidents learned to ride from family and friends or were self-taught. Statistics still reveal under-trained motorcycle riders are the single most common factor in an accident. How to ride is one of the most important skills a motorcycle enthusiast can learn before traveling our nation’s roadways and highways. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) http://www.msf-usa.org/ offers the following classes for new and experienced bikers:
- Basic RiderCourse(BRC) gives 5 hours of instruction and 10 hours of riding for beginners
- Experienced RiderCourse(ERC) consists of 3 separate one day rider courses for current motorcycle enthusiasts
- ScooterSchool 1(SS1) half-day entry-level training course for scooter operators
- DirtBike School(DBS) two one-day training courses for riders interested in recreational trail motorcycles
MSF trains over 400,000 riders each year throughout the United States through their Riders Education and Training System (MSF RETS). The bottom line is both beginner and experienced motorcycle riders, regardless of age, can benefit from participating in rider education classes. With the numerous other factors that pose a serious injury threat to riders, coupled with the nearly 100 percent injury rate in every motorcycle accident, it is imperative bikers learn as many safe riding skills as possible. If you, or someone you know, has been injured in a motorcycle accident navigating the law can be confusing. Consulting a Florida motorcycle accident injury law firm may help you and your family with the complexities of insurance claims and cases where other drivers are involved and speed the recovery from your damages and injuries.
