Southern Texas pickup truck driver rolls Ford crushing three bus stop students.

Dallas, TX(AmericanInjuryNews.com)–Three Tenaha, Texas students were hit by a pickup truck while waiting for their school bus Tuesday morning, leaving one dead and two critically injured. According to KTRE, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Transportation, JaLyric Boykin, 7, her brother Nathan Cooks, 5, and their 14-year-old aunt, Danielle Cooks, were standing at their bus stop, on U.S. Highway 84, 1.1 miles east of Tenaha when the fatal pickup truck wreck occurred.

The 2001 white Ford F-250 driver swerved into a ditch to avoid rear-ending two stopped motor vehicles behind the bus. The pickup truck driver, 22 year-old Eloy Lara of Palastine, Texas, claimed his truck rolled over and crushed the three school children when he attempted to avoid hitting the other stopped automobiles on the highway. Boykin was transported by emergency medical personnel to Shelby Regional Medical Center where doctors pronounced her dead.  Nathan Cooks was airlifted, by medical helicopter, to LSU Medical Center, in Shreveport, Louisiana and listed in critical condition.  Danielle Cooks was taken to Tyler Hospital by ambulance where she remains in stable condition. The driver of the Ford F-250 pickup was not injured in the wreck.
