/EIN News/ Ultrasonix Medical Corporation Announces 1000th Posting on Researchers Forum
Richmond, BC, Canada – March 5, 2009 – Ultrasonix Medical Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems announced today the 1000th posting on its dedicated Ultrasonix Research Users Forum.
The forum, which opened in 2006, provides a place for users of Ultrasonix research products to collaborate, share ideas and obtain technical information. Ultrasonix has become the leader in ultrasound research through the OpenSONIX Platform used in the design of its products and by providing innovative tools to its research customers. Ultrasonix research partners, using this innovative forum, offer Ultrasonix licensing opportunities to further develop and commercialize new cutting edge technologies created using its devices.
Not only does the forum provide a knowledge-base for researchers, but it also harbors many open-source programs designed with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python and C++. “I am continually inspired to see the caliber of postings made by our users on the research forum. Clearly, the idea of having an open and sharing community has been a positive experience; everybody involved is benefiting from the research product, tools, and sense of community that has been created” said Kris Dickie, Research and OEM Manager for Ultrasonix.
Users alike have positive comments to share with regards to the forum. “We have been conducting research with the Ultrasonix machine at the University of British Columbia since 2002. The research forum has been an extremely valuable way of communicating with engineers at Ultrasonix and the wider research community. Of more than 30 students in our laboratory who have performed research on the Ultrasonix machine, almost all of them have made use of the research forum. We look forward to its continued use and expansion” said Dr. Robert Rohling, Associate Professor at University of British Columbia.
