Competing against this musical master at Golden Awards are Clint Eastwood for Changeling, Hans Zimmer for Frost/Nixon, James Newton Howard for Defiance and Alexander Desplat for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Basically, the Slumdog Millionaire is the movie that is based on an interesting novel. The well-known Simon Beaufoy, a British screenwriter, has adapted the marvelous novel into this film’s script. With Danny Boyle as the director but carried on with shooting in India, the movie traces the daily life of some poor Jamal, the slum dweller, who strives for his luck at the Kaun Banega Crorepathi. And to his surprise, the poor man eventually wins the contest. The movie is actually not a first Hollywood assignment for the musical master Rahman as he has composed for films like Elizabeth, Bombay Dreams, The Lord of the Rings and Heaven and Earth.
