Reporters crammed into the Giants Stadium press room. This cramped, small, windowless and smelly press room has not seen so many reporters since the NFC championship games. There were at least 50 to 60 people with TV cameras numbering nine waiting for the pre practice press conference of Tom Coughlin.
The scenario borderline on absurdity as the eight hour wait only rewarded them with a glimpse of the Burress’ Van as he came into and went out of the stadium. The following day is expected to be even more chaotic.
Six of the Giant’s players will speak from not their lockers but the press room podium. They are the ones who are usually in demand and popular with the press. Media says they are not to blame as Burress is the one who dramatized the 11-1 season by shooting himself with a handgun which was unlicensed too in a bid to defend Super Bowl Champions. But for this incident, this would be any other ordinary day for the media who would have been patiently speculating on whether the NFC east title can be clinched by the Giants.
Giant news includes promotion of DT Leger Douzable to active roster from practice squad. This may be due to concerns over the injured shoulder of Fred Robbins. Practice squad signs up WR Michah Rucker and OL Mike Fladell. T Na’Shan Goddard of Giant’s practice squad signed up for Seattle Seahawk’s active roster.
Players who have reported injury at the pre practice session include LB Jonathan Goff, Robbins, O’Hara, RB Ahmad Bradshaw and CB Corey Webster.
