Joe Biden, the Vice Presidential Nominee of the Democrats, considers this is the right time for Barack Obama, the Presidential Nominee to prove his intellect, intelligence and wisdom. Recently in a campaign he said that as soon as Barack Obama takes office he will be tested on the international crisis that the country is facing.
“We’re going to have an international crisis … to test the mettle of this guy. He has got steel in his spine!” These were the words of Biden to promote and support Barrack Obama.
On the contrary, John McCain and Sarah Palin, the Republicans used Biden’s quotes in one of their ads against Barack Obama. They manipulated what Biden said and portrayed as if he criticized Obama’s ability to handle the crisis.
Despite such a controversy, Democrats undoubtedly consider Biden a “steady asset’ David Axelrod, an advisor of Obama said,”Yes, there are those moments when you say, Wow, I wonder why he said that.'”
“Even in the cold hard world of politics, you just look at his numbers. The American people have really embraced him and he’s got a very favorable standing.,” he said in praise of barrack Obama.
“So I don’t care if every once in a while there’s one of those cases where you sort of say, ‘Geez, I’m not sure I would have said it just that way.’ I don’t care about that because at the end of the day, I think the upside is so great,”
John Kerry, 2004 Democratic Presidential Nominee recommended Obama to nominate Biden because of his experience in legislation, foreign affairs and politics.
“He’s going to a lot of places where Barack certainly didn’t do as well in the primaries and talking to folks and bringing them over”, he said referring to Biden.
He also added “”The advantage you have here is you’ve got in Joe Biden somebody who’s seen a lot of mistakes made in Washington and who himself has led major committees. That is an enormous help to any president.”
