Richard Cooey lived in controversy and now his death is also shrouded in controversy. Richard Cooey 41 was accused of killing two college students in 1986. he has been found guilty and sentenced to death. He is 5 feet 7 and weighs 267 pounds. His death is scheduled to be through a lethal injection but this is what is creating a controversy. He says that his obesity will make it difficult to inject the humane lethal injection
The prison staff turned down his earlier request but now they will examine him again today. There were two appeals to stop the execution. the US supreme court has already rejected one appeal.
Cooey had earlier appealed that the jail staff would not be able to inject the lethal injection, as he was obese. This would make it difficult to find his vein. The Supreme Court rejected this too. This is not the first time that Cooey has put in this appeal. He had earlier appealed in Cincinnati and the Ohio Supreme Court. Both the appellate courts turned it down.
