Apple Inc. issued invitations for their upcoming event. Cupertino, California, reading, “The spotlight will turn to notebooks”. That’s all the information people could make out of the invitation, except that it was at 10 a.m, with driving directions to the location of the event.
Usually, such events are hosted by Apple Inc.’s CEO, Steve Jobs. There has been wide speculation and rumors about what this event is going to be all about. Some say that it is going to feature a new line of laptops, while others are thinking more on the lines of a price cut to their current line.
There are speculations of Apple further integrating their multi-touch technology into their laptop line, or maybe adding in TV Tuners into their laptop line.
Analysts have been expecting Apple to announce new laptops or revamp their existing line at a separate event, after they mainly focused on iPods at the September 9th event.
Rumors of low priced Apple notebooks started spreading yesterday, when an anonymous post on the Inquisitr Blog stated that retail stores had started receiving revised price lists from apple, and the lowest Mac Book was priced at $800.
Apple has never needed to enter low-price mode, but the economic condition may be forcing them to. We may soon see an Apple notebooks but it will still probably be at least a few hundred dollars more than the current windows and Linux-based notebooks.
Less than a week remains for the event to take place, and Apple leaves analysts and fans alike, frantically guessing what this is going to be about.
