A bus, which was carrying casino-bound passengers on the Colusa County rural road met with an accident. It is believed about ten people have died and more than 30 were injured.
A highway patrol says that it rolled over into a muddy drainage ditch. The reason why it rolled over is not known .It was going from Sacramento to the Colusa Casino Resort. Although the bus landed on its wheels yet seven people died on the spot and three more are reported to have lost their lives while on the way to the hospital. It is not known how many people were in the bus could be anything from 40 to 70. A total of 38 were taken to the various hospitals and regional medical centers. The CHP spokes woman Fran Clader said “At the early stages of things like this, things are so chaotic, and the priority is getting people transported to the hospital,” There was an immediate response from the emergency crews in Colusa and Yolo counties.
The cause of the accident is not known and the driver is safe. He has been taken to Woodland Memorial hospital. Authorities reported that it was a Greyhound lines bus. The spokeswoman of the greyhound company however denied it. She said that the bus did not belong to them .It was an old bus but no longer with them. “It is not our bus. We sold it more than two years ago,” said Kim Plaskett, the Greyhound spokeswoman. “It is an old bus.”
