Post bombing, flights to Pakistan cancelled by British Airways

Dallas, Texas: According To the latest news from London, UK’s British Airways has cancelled all its flights to Pakistan – Islamabad following the recent terrorist attacks on Marriott Hotel in its capital on last Saturday. The International Herald said that the flight service to Islamabad from London’s Heathrow airport that was scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday was cancelled due to security scare in Pakistan. Even British Airways is reviewing its operations thereby stalling its Pakistan bounded flights.

Since the past week, Pakistan has been facing a string of terrorist attacks such as truck bombing that severely damaged the Marriott Hotel at Islamabad thereby killing more than fifty people and hurting countless others. According to the statement made by Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, the main motive of terrorists was to plant the bomb at a meeting conducted by a Pakistani leader that was taking place at a nearby location.

The Marriott hotel has 290 spacious rooms and is located in the vicinity of Pakistan Parliament along with the ministries and presidential offices. However, this place has been the target of terrorists in the year 2004 and 2007.

According to a statement made by the website of British Airways, “Following the bomb attack on the Marriott hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, British Airways has canceled a number of flights to and from Islamabad.” Before the attack on Islamabad, British Airways continued its flight for one day i.e. Monday to Islamabad.
