The 25th MTV Awards are all set to set Los Angeles on fire at the Paramount pictures lot. It promises to be an exciting collaboration between Hollywood and rock’n’ roll with music videos slated to play an important part.Russel Brand the famous British comedian will be the host.It promises to bring a lot of excitement with the Jonas Brothers , Pink and rapper T.I slated to perform live.Pink in her inimitable style will shimmy down and scream out her lungs with her popular lyrics from the kiss off single “So what”
Actual music videos will be rotated on the channel.Some of the popular categories have been reintroduced like art direction and cinematography.Some categories which seemed to be redundant like the “quadruple threat ‘ and the ‘earth shattering collaboration ‘have been scrapped off.
This a sure sign that music videos are back with a bang.You tube and Myspace are largely responsible for this boom. “There is no question that more music videos are being viewed now than ever before,” said Eric Garland who is the chief executive of the company “Big Champagne”
For the first time the MTV viewers got a chance to express their choice by nominating the performers for the FNMTV website.This was earlier done only by music professionals.The viewers are responsible for bringing Spears “piece of me “ into Round 2. “Our history with her goes back 10 years, so clearly we wanted her involved with our 25th celebration,” said Sirulnick “But the audience wanted her to be a part of it too.”
This year more than 12 million fans are expected to watch the show and breathe new life into it.
