The Moving Factor, Inc. a premier Fort Worth moving company in Tarrant County, has committed to fighting hunger in their community by partnering with the national hunger relief organization Move For Hunger. As part of their national network, The Moving Factor joins Move For Hunger’s force of relocation companies throughout North America: to date, they have delivered more than 6.9 million pounds of food – that’s 5.7 million meals – to local food banks across the United States and Canada. Food insecurity affects nearly 340,000 people in Tarrant County; 1 in 5 children in the county go to bed hungry each night. The Moving Factor, who provides relocation services throughout the Fort Worth area, recognized the urgency of their neighbors’ needs and joined Move For Hunger to continue the fight against hunger and spread awareness in Texas and across North America.

When people move, they often throw out a good deal of “stuff.”  Unfortunately, much of this stuff is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than just left behind. The crew of The Moving Factor will now be collecting those food items from their customers and delivering them directly to the local community food bank. The service is free to customers and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, simply by donating the cans and non-perishables on moving day.

“We are thrilled to have The Moving Factor join us in the fight against hunger,” says Adam Lowy, Founder and Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “With such devastating hunger statistics at both the local and national level, their efforts will provide crucial support to the food bank’s mission to feed the hungry.”

“When we realized how many of our neighbors were going hungry, we knew we had to do something,” explains Sean Factor of The Moving Factor. “Move For Hunger gives us the opportunity to help our community in a meaningful way.”

With over 18% of the population in Tarrant County affected by food insecurity, including over 128,000 children, it has never been more important to come together to help neighbors who are less fortunate. Through the support of partners like The Moving Factor, Move For Hunger can continue to help the nearly 50 million Americans struggling to find their next meal.

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste. They work with companies across North America to collect non-perishable food from people who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, their network has collected over 6.9 million pounds of food. For more information or to find out how you can help support Move For Hunger, visit www.MoveForHunger.org.
