Starbucks Style Music Cards Strike A Chord In Hotels And Spas

Private Label Music is reaching a wider audience with its MUSIC DOWNLOAD CARDS at luxury hotels and spas

Private Label Music has not-so-quietly been creating a uniquely harmonious mix of marketing and technology that has found a new way to leave a lasting impression – Signature Sound albums. These albums are held online at microsites the company creates for its luxury hotels, spas, gyms and restaurants. The coffee company Starbucks began a similar trend a few years back when they began to offer a free song of the week each Tuesday, turning people onto new artists. They since have added books and apps of the week as a free download.

Private Label Music has already created memorable musical ambience for such notable high-end hotel and spa companies as the Leading Spas Of The World, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Relais & Chateau, Waldorf Astoria, Heavenly Spas by Westin, Hilton, Marriott, Oberoi, Rosewood Hotels, Langham Hotels, Peninsula and many others.

Now, the company is working with top spas & resorts to add value at the time their guests check in. When guests check out after spa treatments, they receive a recycled plastic music download card good for a free song. The front is branded in 4 color with a spa’s logo and key art photo while the backside has a code and website for the guest to download a free track from the property’s signature sound album held online at a microsite. “It’s a nice way to say thank you for visiting us and increase branding in the spa’s check out area,” says Brad Pressman, President of Private Label Music and the man in charge of the custom music division.

Hotels are able to hand these unique cards out during a guest’s arrival as a thank you and sample of their branded album, a token of the ambience the hotel is trying to create with the music playing on property.

The hotels & spas can go further & extend their brand by making money with this music and generating a repeat visit. “When the guest downloads his or her free song, they can then preview the rest of the customized album online, buy it for $9.99 and when they do, the spa gets a $2.00 royalty” says Pressman. Spas then can put customize the check out page by leaving the guests with a coupon or discount on their next visit.
