Tulsa’s Talk of Tulsa Show Chorus won first place in the Region 25 Sweet Adelines annual competition held, Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Eisemann Performing Arts Center in Richardson TX. With a total score of 599, The Talk of Tulsa took top honors and qualified to compete at the 2013 Sweet Adelines International competition, representing the region, in Honolulu Hawaii, November 4-9, 2013. Finance coordinator, Jan Robinson stated, “This was the first year the Talk of Tulsa competed in the mid-size chorus division, it is amazing and thrilling that we won! This gives hopes to other chorus that winning is possible.”
The Talk of Tulsa Show Chorus, which was chartered in 2003, was led by their Director, Frank Friedemann and Assistant Director, Patty Friedemann. Both are certified directors, and have competed with internationally winning quartets. Patty is also a member of the Region 25 faculty.
The Talk of Tulsa was also proudly represented in the quartet competition by two quartets; Those Darn Dames and Z4!, the latter winning 3rd place out of 17 competing quartets. Z4! also received the Novice Award by earning the highest score for a quartet that had two or more members who have never competed before.
