Massage Envy Spa is taking on Little Rock’s homeless problems through a newly announced program with Our House Homeless, a comprehensive program for working homeless families and individuals. Massage Envy, a locally owned spa in Little Rock, just opened in 2011 but is already trying to improve the community. The spa will provide monthly services to the local homeless community through Our House. The partnership is right in line with Massage Envy’s Vision statement of “Better lives. Better families. Better communities. A better world… through our hands.” With over 35 employees and more than 1,300 members of its wellness program in the Little Rock area potentially taking part, Massage Envy really hopes to make a difference.
“While we support many local charities, we wanted to build a relationship with one where we could have ongoing involvement and really see results,” said Tina Ledbetter, owner of Massage Envy. “Our employees and clients are a very compassionate group that likes to have fun and help others. Our House is like its own little community. I am sure we will do both while serving them.”
Our House offers a hand up to the working homeless members of the community. Residents must be willing and able to work and stay committed to saving 75% of each paycheck. Our House operates an 80-bed Shelter, a Family House providing transitional housing, an Adult Learning Center that provides education and job training, a licensed childcare center, after-school and summer youth programs and a feeding program that serves 77,000 meals per year. Other services that help people transform their lives include parenting classes, addiction recovery groups, counseling, and job search assistance.

Although new to Little Rock, Massage Envy has already been winning awards as best in class for the services it provides in the spa. Now they are looking to serve more outside of the spa. Says Ledbetter, “We are in a unique business where what we do every day is bring relief. We can’t wait to get started with Our House.”
