Symteco, a provider of mobile and online alternative payments solutions, announced the availability of a free mobile payment application for the Android platform.
The new application, according to company officials, is designed for all phones that run the Android operating system ranging from the Sprint HTC Hero and T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ running Android 1.5 to the newly released Verizon Motorola DROID running Android 2.0, Symteco officials said.
Symtecos new Android application allows for free person-to-person payments between members, and low-cost merchant processing through its new Android application.
Android’s open source, java-centric operating system has appealed to the mass market, and Symteco is bullish on the application built for Android, company officials said.
The new Symteco application can be used by all Symteco Personal and Business users to make and receive person-to-person payments, track activity, and withdraw funds from their Symteco accounts to linked bank accounts.
Small Business account holders are also able to issue refunds for any sale through the application, even if it occurred on their Web site, company officials added.
Once members open Small Business accounts, they can create their own application programming interface (API) key to unlock Symtecos payment services, and add secure debit payments to their online or mobile Web sites and applications.
API keys may be used to authorize one-time or recurring billing subscription payments. Merchants can receive Symteco members shipping information to fulfill orders conducted through its online and mobile payments service, Symteco officials said.
The service also enables members without bank accounts to receive funds without any service cost. They can use the funds either to make purchases at e-commerce merchants where Symteco is accepted or transfer for free to account holders that have bank accounts where the funds can be withdrawn.

Symtecos Android application is free to download from the Android Market.
