The 21-year-old man, who was arrested in a mass shooting at a July 4 parade in a suburb of Chicago, has confessed and told police he was considering a second attack while fleeing.

After fleeing the shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, Robert Crimo drove to nearby Madison, Wisconsin, where he “seriously considered” carrying out another attack, police spokesman Christopher Covelli told reporters.

Assistant District Attorney Ben Dillon said during a bail hearing for Crimo that he voluntarily confessed to police that he shot in Highland Park on July 4 that killed seven and injured dozens.

Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Crimo held without bail.
