In a recent update, Spotify has announced that now its podcasters can also offer subscriptions to others. The process will add the podcasters to the mainstream of the distribution platform. Creators will now be allowed to broaden their Spotify platform specifically, which will contribute to an overall expansion of Spotify.
Earlier today, the company made the announcement, saying that creators can now share the subscriptions via a shared link. Although the feature is only for US-based podcasters at the moment, it will expand the podcast creation once creators start utilizing the anchor option for its subscribers.
While updating about the new update, spotify.com the company stated;
“Starting today, we’re making Podcast Subscriptions available to all U.S. podcasters. Our model is built to maximize creator revenue and offer the widest possible reach so creators can grow their audiences and develop deep connections with listeners. Creators will now find that in Anchor, they’ll be able to mark episodes as subscriber-only and publish them to Spotify and other platforms.”
Subscribers will be able to leverage not only from a private RSS but also will be allowed to enjoy all the new and exclusive episodes of their favorite content inside the app upon subscription. Creators can now share a link with others using the distribution platform, and then eventually, they will be able to expand public on their platform.
Podcasters can enlist their specific episodes and place them under the subscribers-only categorical content. The company stated that people are buying subscriptions for podcasts, and so far, more than 100 podcasts have been subscribed.
Furthermore, due to expansion in subscriptions and app utility, the company is also looking forward to ways to enhance the functions and payment methods for its subscribers. The pricing points have been increased to 20 in the new update.
The company has also allowed the podcasts to download the contact addresses and information of its subscribers. This new update will help the creators to keep the data of its viewers and can also benefit in case they are planning some new podcasts in the future. These updates will help the podcasters in increasing the ratio of overall revenue they earn through the platform.
Talking about the update, spotify.com stated;
“We will be expanding the number of pricing points to 20 options that can be chosen by the creator, offering increased flexibility.”
The official website spotify.com also updated about the contact addresses update;
“We now offer the ability for creators to download a list of contact addresses for their subscribers so they can further engage with their subscriber bases and offer even more benefits.”
Subscribers will be enabled not only to enjoy their favorite creators on the Spotify application but also through private RSS feeds. The company also stated that the features and updates are available for all android, iOS, and all other devices since the application can work on all these platforms
The company also ensured that, upon their successful experience with the feature, they would launch it on an international level by September 15. Subscriber-only content, subscribers’ information, and a number of pricing points will be enabled for everyone.
