On February 17, 2016, HM King Mohammed VI paid a friendship and working visit to France.
On this occasion, HM the King held at the Elysee Palace in Paris, talks with French President François Hollande.
During this audience, the two heads of State voiced the shared determination of France and Morocco to fight terrorism and radicalization together.
The two leaders also examined a number of regional issues, particularly the Libyan conflict. President Hollande hailed the crucial role of Morocco in the process held under the auspices of the United Nations to reach the Skhirat Agreement to form a national unity government in Libya.
As for climate change, President Hollande expressed his thanks to HM King Mohammed VI for his personal commitment in the success of COP21 and in the preparation of COP22 scheduled on November 7-18 in Marrakech.
After the talks, the Sovereign and the French President visited the Arab World Institute where the project of the Moroccan Cultural Center in Paris was presented.
The cultural center will be located in the mythical district of Saint-Michel, which is very popular among French and foreign students, academics and artists and which hosts numerous academic institutions.
This center aims to strengthen the cultural presence of the Kingdom in the French capital by displaying the cultural richness and diversity of Morocco. It will also contribute in strengthening ties between the Moroccan community living in France and their native country.
