Oregon – A former engineer for Daimler Trucks North America has accused the Portland, Oregon based company of discrimination. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), 75-year-old, Egyptian-born engineer Hussein Fouad has filed a lawsuit alleging he was repeatedly called “bin Laden” by his supervisor who he says also made the suggestion that he was a member of al-Qaida.

The lawsuit is reportedly the latest to be filed against Daimler, which earlier this year agreed to a $2.4 million settlement for complaints filed against multiple workers who claimed to have been the target of threats, inappropriate slurs, and Nazi graffiti. Another discrimination lawsuit was also filed in February by four current or former African American workers.

According to the latest lawsuit, Fouad was employed by the company from 2012 to 2014 and received recognition for saving the company over $1 million per year. In his first year he reportedly received a positive performance review, but a new supervisor later began asking about his age and retirement plans before placing him on a “performance improvement plan” and terminating him four months later.

The lawsuit is seeking $2 million in damages.
