Another new company joins the distinguished list of sponsors for the Outdoor Channel’s Fishing University. Debra Talley, Vice President of Program Development announced today that Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant has signed a contract to sponsor the 26 year old TV show.

“Captain D’s is excited to partner with Fishing University and to be a part of such a beloved and important program”, said Jonathan Muhtar, Chief Marketing Officer at Captain D’s. “As a brand committed to serving great seafood in a friendly environment, we have become a proud part of our communities and the families we serve. We are delighted to support Ray and Charlie’s mission to educate the anglers and outdoorsmen of our future”.

Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but their commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been their core mission from the beginning.

A significant portion of Captain D’s innovation efforts has been focused on new grilled items. The new grilled menu, along with all-new, fresh and inviting menu boards, will be implemented system-wide by Q1 2014. Along with new menu items, the brand has been converting units to fit their new and modern Beach Design remodel. And as changes have been made to enhance each guest’s experience, Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant has never wavered from its core commitment—great food at a great price and excellent service.

Captain D’s is also experiencing a heightened interest from multi-unit/multi-brand owners looking to diversify their existing restaurant portfolio and the sales growth of the brand has sparked renewed interest in development from its existing franchise base. The innovation and growth of D’s is creating an excitement that can be felt around the country.

“We are very excited over our new sponsorship of Captain D’s”, said Charlie Ingram and Ray Brazier, co-host of Fishing University. “As our crew traveled around the country filming our shows at different locations, Captain D’s had become our go-to restaurant. We are always able to find one in almost every location where we’ve filmed. And, most importantly, we love their menu. The quality in the foods they serve and the variety they offer is very important when we are traveling day after day. We are looking forward to a great and long association with Captain D’s”, concluded the two.

Fishing University is sponsored by Legend Boats, Honda Marine, Captain Ds, the State of Tennessee Tourism, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee State Parks, Jackson Kayak, Power Tech, Spro, Tuf-Line, Buckeye Lures, RayMarine, Hammer Rods, T-H Marine, Freedom Lures and Floatback Lures.
