The Dubai Business Women’s Council will unveil a new website on Dec. 2, UAE National Day. “We are very proud of the new site and believe it will be an important information and access portal for women across the world who are interested in doing business in dubai. Women in the UAE will be able to use the website to reach out to other women in business here and doing business in other countries as well,” said H.E. Raja Easa Al Gurg.

The website will discuss in detail what the DBWC does and how membership in it is a benefit to women in business. Building awareness, educating, promoting opportunities and enhancing positive change in the community toward the acceptance of women in business is at the heart of the DBWC’s belief in empowering women and motivating them to be productive members of the society and economy.

“Women have made tremendous advancements in the Middle East and have proven themselves to be capable of being business leaders. Now is the time for them to have an even greater voice in business. The DBWC is a vehicle for that and the new website underscores that importance,” H.E. Al Gura said. Established in 2002, under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dubai Business Women’s Council is the official representative organization for business women, both professionals and entrepreneurs, in the Emirate of Dubai. “Since the DBWC has formed, we have helped many women both open businesses and expand the businesses they already have. The networking possibilities inherent in the DBWC are just tremendous,” H.E. Al Gura said.

The DBWC was created to fill a very large gap in the Dubai economy and to motivate National Women to heed the guidance of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, when he said “It is not strange for a UAE woman to be an ambassador; she who proves herself merits praise and encouragement” (www.sheikhmohammed.co.ae). The Council will host an Arab International Women’s Forum conference on Dec. 10 at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The theme is “Young Arab Women Leaders – the Voice of the Future.” H.E. Al Gura said this is yet another example of the leadership capabilities women have and she encouraged all Arab women to learn more about this conference. The new website can be accessed at http://dbwc.ae .
