Report: More People Die From Drugs Than Traffic Accidents in U.S.

Drug deaths now outnumber traffic fatalities in the United States, according to a Times analysis of government data.

This report should serve as a wake-up call to lawmakers in every state. Prescription narcotics are just as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than illegal drugs. It’s time for new regulation to be enacted against pharmaceutical companies to make these drugs less addicting, or toughen standards for receiving these pills.
