Yonkers, NY – A Yonkers collision involving a school bus and a Dodge Charger Thursday, May 20, 2010, resulted in thirty-two children being sent to nearby hospitals for observation, as reported by LoHud.com.

The children were en route to School 17, located at 745 Midland Avenue, at approximately 8:30 a.m., when the bus they were riding in was rear ended by a Charger, according to Police Officer Michael Buono.

Several children complained of various aches and pains, prompting officials to send all children to hospitals for check-ups. Empress Ambulance took the students to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers and Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.

All children were examined and released.

The driver of the charger, whose identity was not released, complained of leg and back injuries.

The bus driver and bus monitor were not injured.

The bus suffered minor damage, while the Charger had extensive damage.

As of Thursday, no citations were issued.
