Washington, DC – On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published a press release stating that the CPSC, with the cooperation of Rashti & Rashti, issued a recall of Rashti & Rashti Giraffe Security Blankets. Consumers are advised to cease use of the products.
The security blankets were made with balls on top of the giraffe’s horns, which can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children. While no injuries were reported, as of May 18, approximately 44,000 blankets are being recalled.
The blankets were manufactured in China and sold at Target stores from January 2009 to August 2009. They retailed at approximately $9.
The blankets measured approximately 14 inches by 14 inches. The phrase “I love you” is embroidered on the blanket and a pink plush giraffe head and two arms stem from the middle. Style number Y22230H and “Just One Year a division of Carter’s” are on the blanket label.
Consumers are advised to take the recalled blankets away from children and contact Rashti & Rashti to obtain a full refund.
Rashti & Rashti can be contacted toll-free at (889) 594-3730 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. One can also visit the firms website at www.rashtiandrashti.com for more information.
