Griffin, GA – Four men were being held Monday, May 17, 2010, after shooting spree in Griffin, Georgia erupted on Saturday, which injured three and killed an up and coming rapper, as reported by WSBTV.com.
At approximately 6 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010, a rapper known as Yung Hott was filming his first music video in the streets of his hometown, Griffin. Police reported 20 rounds were fired in the area where 150 to 200 people were working on the video.
Yung Hott, whose real name was Jerode Paige, was shot in the head and died at the scene.
The spree managed to injure three others, including a five-year-old girl. She was playing in a toy car at the time, when a bullet hit her in the foot. The girl was treated at Spalding Regional Hospital and then Children’s Hospital at Eggleston before she was released.
The two other victims were held for questioning. They were considered persons of interest and were held at Spalding County Jail.
By noon on Monday, police reported Bahir Howard, 22, Corderra Walker, 21, Terry Fuller, 21, and Terrance Jones, 23, were being held on charges including murder, aggravated battery and child cruelty.
Police did not release a motive for the shooting yet.
The rapper’s CD was shown to reporters at the scene. The photo on the cover of the album contains a crime scene on a street in Griffin, complete with a dead body in the road and Griffin police investigating. The yellow tape bordering the scene says “YUNG HOTT KILLIN ‘EM.”
