Apple iPhone scores while Blackberry Storm is having its bugs fixed

Dallas, Texas (TopWireNews) — The RIM Blackberry Storm mobile phone that took the market by storm amid high expectations from consumers has turned out to be quite a dampener. Users of the Blackberry Storm feel it doesn’t stand up to their expectations. It certainly isn’t a challenge to the Apple iphone. This latest handset which was due to hit the markets before the start of the 2008 holiday season is the first touch screen device for Research In Motion Ltd, which is offered by Verizon Wireless.

Consumers feel it doesn’t match up to the Apple’s iPhone, which has far advanced features. Bugs found in the Blackberry have been causing quite a few problems to customers and Verizon Wireless is currently fixing them using a new firmware 4.7.0.75 update.

Blackberry Storm caused quite a sensation in its retail sales during it initial launch when all units were sold instantly. The only hiccup was the internet orders that were delayed as a security flaw was being fixed. The Operating system was down graded that caused a backlog in delivery of the phones.

Consumers opine that the Blackberry Storm is a good deal at its price of $199, with its added multi media feature that is unavailable on the iPhone. The price comes with a 2 year guarantee period. Satisfied consumers are willing to wait patiently as Verizon prepares to release a new firmware to tackle handset issues. The only difference between the 2 handsets is the presence of a 3.2 mega pixel camera with complete video capabilities like zoom, flash and auto focus in the new Blackberry Storm.
